Who Are We?

Crohn’s and Colitis UK is a national charity leading the battle against Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. We’re fighting to achieve a better quality of life now for the 300,000 people in the UK suffering physically and emotionally due to these and other forms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Ultimately, we want to find a cure. For more than 35 years, we’ve been working with and for patients and their families, the nurses, doctors, and all those that work in healthcare that treat them, and the policymakers who can bring about change. We provide high quality information and support as well as fund and partner in life-changing research and campaign vigorously – for more knowledge, better services and more support for people affected by IBD. We won’t stop fighting until we’ve won.

The Marsden Family Story

Watching our son’s brave struggle against Crohn’s Disease has inspired us to raise funds in aid of Crohn’s and Colitis. This year all proceeds raised during the week will go to help raise awareness of this terrible disease. Our son was 18 when he was finally diagnosed with Crohns and after being rushed to hospital in November 2015 has already had surgery. He is still recovering and learning to live day to day with this debilitating disease. As well as missing a lot of university work whilst in hospital and convalescing Toby has to endure the pain and the limitations that Crohns causes him and will continue to throughout his life. We are inspired by how brave and how quickly he has accepted his condition and learned to live with it without complaint. As parents we wish we could do more for him but we hope raising money on behalf of Crohns and Colitis will go some small way in helping find out more about this disease for the future. We now want to do something positive to help him and all the other people affected by this miserable condition. We are honoured to be raising funds this year for Crohn’s and Colitis UK which is the major UK charity offering vital research, information and support to all those affected.
